Pattern Coffee Pour Over Brewing Guide

Pattern Coffee - Chocoberry in a coffee jug

Pour over is a ritual and an art. With Pattern Coffee’s approach, we keep it approachable and rewarding, unlocking the best from every bag.

You’ll need:

  • Pour over dripper and filter
  • Coffee jug/carafe/server
  • 15g medium ground Pattern Coffee
  • 300ml filtered water at about 94-96°C
  • Scale and timer

Brewing steps:

  1. Place your filter in the dripper and rinse it thoroughly, then discard that rinse water.
  2. Add 15g of Pattern Coffee, then gently tap to level the grounds so water flows evenly.
  3. Start your timer and pour 60g of water slowly over the bed, making sure all grounds are wet. This bloom is crucial for a fresh, clean cup. Wait 30 seconds for it to develop.
  4. Slowly pour the remaining water in gentle circles, aiming to finish pouring when your timer reads between 2:30 and 3 minutes.
  5. Lift off the dripper and pour yourself a cup of coffee that’s vibrant, balanced and true to our beans’ story.
